Characters are always a vital part of any Supermassive Game and this was no different for The Casting of Frank Stone. We had a diverse cast, spanning different time periods and the concept and character teams produced some truly incredible work.
Alongside the standard character costumes, we also had the chance to create some incredibly fun alternative costumes for all playable characters. The premise for this was 'closet cosplay', meaning that each had to appear like a cosplay but comprised of clothing that you could see being found in each character's closet. This was an exciting challenge to try to capture classic movie monsters with everyday clothing and, as with the standard costumes, the team did an awesome job!
As Art Director, it's incredibly rewarding to see a project evolve from early concepts to the final image on-screen and in the player's hands. We stayed quite true to the initial vision for the game as these comparisons show!
Special thanks must go to José Martins Leite and Gaia Buggio for their awesome concepts and Manuel Capitani, Jean Zoudi, Simon Sarmiento and Luis Omar for their fantastic character work. Check out their profiles below!
